Crock Pot Pork Chops

Hi everybody, thanks for joining me today. So today I’ll be showing you how to make crock pot pork chops. This is a great recipe to do during the week when you’re busy, you can put it in the morning before you go to work and is ready when you get home. Also, I’ll show you a couple of different tips and things to do to make them tase really good.

All right everybody, let’s go for our ingredients so we can start it. Here I have 2 very large pork shoulder blade steaks, I got some fresh basil from my garden as well as some parsley, i got some minced garlic, some super fine dice yellow onion, chicken broth, one bay leaf, a little bit of brown sugar, some cornstarch, a lilttle bit of red wine, salt and pepper and we’ll need a little bit of coconut oil.

So what we will gonna do right now is we’ll gonna do one of the things to make this dish taste really good, this is one of my tips:), we are gonna sear our pork chops. I got them right here, I’m just gonna salt them a little bit and pepper them, I got my pan here preheating over medium-high heat, I want this pan to be nice and hot before I put the meat into it. After preheating we’ll gonna add a little bit of coconut oil and I’m gonna go ahead and place my chops in there for about 3 minutes per side and I’m gonna go ahead and salt the other side of the pork chops here and pepper them. They’ve been searing up for about 3 and a half minutes so, let’s turn them over, the do tend to release from the pan after they seared up, nice and brown, that’s what you want and we’re sear them up on this side for 3 and a half minutes too. Searing helps us to make some great crock pot pork chops.

Now it’s time to take our meat out, we are gonna set it aside on a clean plate, we are gonna keep the chops nice and warm by placing some foil just over the top and now we’re gonna move to our onions, add a little more coconut oil to the pan. We got those brown bits sticking to the bottom of the pan, which is great because that’s gonna add more flavor to our sauce in the crock pot. So, we are adding our onins to the pan and sear tender till is brown, 5 or 6 minutes or so. After that, the onions gets that brown look, this is gonna make this dish really tase great, that’s a secret for you. You can throw everything into a crock pot, but you’ll not gonna get the kind of flavors that we are building here. Now we are gonna add our garlic and we’re gonna stir this for just one minute, that’s all we need. All right, so, our last addtion now is the wine, this is gonna help deglaze the rest of the brown bits that are stuck on the bottom, you need to work them out a little bit. Now we’re going to add the brown sugar to dissolve in our sauce. The last thing that we are going to do is the add the cornstarch to the chicken broth and stir a little bit and then we’re gonna pour it to our onion mixture and bring it to the boil point.

Now all we have to do is to place our chops right into the crock pot, also pour all the juice from the plate where the chops waited for the the slow cooker as well and then our sauce from the pan, pour it carefully to the pot. Now we need to add our herbs, toss in the bay leaf, chop the basil and toss it in, cut up some parsley and sprinkle on our crock pot pork chops, put the lead on, set the slow cooker on high for about four hours. You can also cook this on low for about 8 hours, the longer it goes, the more tender the meat becomes.

I hope you enjoy this recipe and here is the list of the ingredients again:
